Chelsea in Bloom

8th April 2019

We are currently very excited at Kings of Chelsea, as we are in the throes of putting the final touches to our designs for Chelsea in Bloom, the first year in which we will be participating. Running from 20th-25th May, Chelsea In Bloom is staged to appear concurrently with Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital from 21st-25th May. Chelsea in Bloom is a relatively recent¬†¬†addition to the London seasonal calendar, started in 2006 and getting larger every year. Overseen by Cadogan Estates, one of London’s largest private landowning estates, it showcases the art and design of both independent florists and the creative teams of individual businesses. From large global luxury brands such as Tiffany to individual boutiques such as Cassandra Goad, the whole area comes alive with amazing displays of stunning and colourful flowers and plants.

Traditionally a national and international draw, the Chelsea Flower Show is arguably the best known horticultural event in the world. For one week there is a steady stream of experts, amateurs and the generally curious arriving at Sloane Square tube station and making their way in an orderly manner down to the Royal Hospital, a stunning backdrop for the themed gardens and competitive growing events staged across the week. Many celebrities are often involved in the creation of the gardens, and this year is no exception as Kate, Duchess of Cambridge has been invited to contribute a design. Members of the Royal Family are usually attendees of the show, regularly appearing to enjoy the atmosphere since 1912 when it first began in its current form.

In excess of 150,000 people attend the show, and the Chelsea In Bloom event is also creating a reputation for itself as a must-see alongside the official main draw. Now running from Sloane Square North to Knightsbridge and West down the Kings Road, over 70 individual businesses will take part this year with the theme of “Under the Sea” as the overarching visual connection. Many different artistic interpretations are likely going to offer a wild variety of sights along this prestigious stretch of London real estate. Cadogan have a guide and a map to the participants and the area, helping the keen to be able to see each and every show-stopping construction. Kings of Chelsea have not yet revealed their plans, but needless to say, it’s a highly competitive event, with awards for Best Display & Public Champion up for grabs! Keep an eye on the site for further updates and make a date in your diary to come and enjoy an amazing and inspiring show for free!
